The recognition of Uruq Bani Ma’arid, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Saudi Arabia, on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas underscores the site’s global ecological significance. This acknowledgment showcases the Kingdom’s expanding leadership in conserving arid-land habitats, particularly in Uruq Bani Ma’arid, which covers a vast area at the edge of the Empty Quarter.
