2025 Mannes Piano Festival Opens Applications in New York City

The Mannes Piano Festival in New York City has opened applications for its 2025 edition, set to take place at The New School from July 13 to 26. This prestigious festival, designed for international pianists aged 16 and above, offers a comprehensive program that includes private lessons, seminars, workshops, masterclasses, performance opportunities, and a culminating piano competition with cash prizes for the top three winners.

The festival, hosted by The New School’s renowned all-Steinway Mannes School of Music, caters to exceptional young talents aged 15 and under on a case-by-case basis. A highlight of the event is a concert series featuring globally acclaimed pianists such as Korkmaz Can Sağlam, Élizabeth Pion, A Bu, Gabriele Strata, and Dmitry Yudin. Participants will also benefit from the expertise of guest faculty from Europe and Asia, alongside Mannes’ esteemed piano faculty.

Notable figures like Hyoung-Joon Chang, Pavlina Dokovska, Christopher Elton, Richard Goode, Yuri Kim, and many others will be part of the educational experience. The festival aims to provide aspiring pianists with opportunities to refine their skills, prepare for music school auditions, and receive mentorship to advance their musical careers.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply before the April 14, 2025 deadline. Scholarships based on merit are available to support talented pianists in joining this enriching program. Pavlina Dokovska, Mannes Piano Department Chair and Artistic Director of the Mannes Summer Piano Festival, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event, highlighting its potential to transform the musical journeys of participants, whether seasoned performers or budding artists seeking guidance to elevate their piano studies and performance aspirations.
